  1. I've seen so many arguments here of should vs. shouldn't legalize, but the real question is how did it become illegal in the first place and why. Why have governments endorsed the selling of things like tobacco and alcohol (at least as harmful as weed if not moreso). If you follow the socio-economic narrative in the US, as well as where the anti-legalization lobbying is getting its funding, the answers become really clear really fast. The US government (and most others) don't really care what their people want; they care more about whether the right people can monetize on such an important political decision. At this point, the health benefits/detriments are simply not even relevant; no one really cares. Every rational adult knows that alcohol will destroy your liver and other organs if used in excess, causes addiction and other horrible things, but they still drink and our culture is full of stories of excessive drinking. People consume sugar in vast quantities although it has been proven that it is severely detrimental to one's health and has addictive behavior associated with it. If governments really cared about the medical well-being of their citizens, marijuana would definitely not be the primary offender, but they don't.

  2. I feel like the argument that weed causes mental health issues might be backwards and that people who suffer from mental health issues are more likely to take up weed as a coping mechanism (im sure i heard of a study that suggested that but i cant remember)
Personally i've been suicidal since i was 11 and didn't take up weed till i was 24 and my mental health sharply improved.

  3. As a Canadian who is a grower at an industrial sized cannabis grow:

New indoor grows have great energy initiatives and work closely with power generators to help regulate the grid. ie during hot days when everyone is using A/C we can curtail our energy usage. We act as a giant energy sink for the grid that can ramp up/down at the click of a button.

Also the preferred term is “cannabis” or “high THC cannabis” If you need to differentiate from hemp.

And that light at 10:16 is a ceramic metal halide (which is relatively high in UV but would never be called a “UV light”) HPS lights and LEDs are far more common. And indoor grows require cooling (because the lights radiate heat).

    Great video 🙂

  4. Alcohol and tobacco are imho worse than weed. It was demonized by tobacco companies. Hell, they amount of BS tobacco companies sold to people is so incredible, I would ban all tobacco products for a decade just on principle for lying.
    Legalize weed? Hell yes!

  5. How in gods name should weed increase gang vioilence and violence in general??? Anyone who's taken it can say that on weed the last thing you want is violence

  6. The Electricity portion of your argument is just plain wrong! The reason people resorted to indoor growing in the first place was because it is illegal. Simple decriminalization has helped us South-Africans save a huge amount because now no-one cares if it grows in your backyard… Outdoor farms are far more economical and electricity efficient but because it is illegal, that is what is causing wasteful electrical usage!

  7. Yes definately. In fact I think all drugs should be decriminalised. In my opinion there is literally no point whatsoever trying to control or tell people what they are allowed to put in their own bodies. All that standpoint does is cost us a load of money and resources trying to control something which it is impossible to control. The war on drugs does nothing positive for anyone. All it does it drive the price up so the criminals who dont get caught make even more money and the end users have to pay out more money to get their fix. Not only that but since the stuff is manufactured and distributed by criminals, it could be cut with anything. Most people who die from drugs die because they took something that was cut with something much more harmful than the drug they actually thought they were taking. If recreational drugs were manufactured by the state rather than criminals at least the end users would know exactly what they were putting in their bodies. The money saved from not having to fight the war on drugs any more plus the extra money made from taxation could then go into the NHS and for programmes to help addicts get clean if they want help. Of course though just like alcohol you should be prosecuted if found driving under the influence of any drug which impairs your ability to drive. It should all be 18 and over as well of course just like exisitng legal recreational drugs are now.

  8. Yes. It seems fantastic to me that we are even still having to ask this question whilst nobody bats an eyelid at £10 bottles of vodka in Aldi.

And the cost of policing it must be crazy. I moved from South London (where there was plenty of weed) to rural Cambridgeshire and it is EVERYWHERE here.

  9. On the topic of marijuana making you twice as likely to cause a traffic accident: That's the exact same number of increased accident rates for when you're still under but close to the legal limit for BAC of 0.05%. So while it's okay to drive with a BAC of 0,04% the increased risk due to drivers under marijuana influence is a non-argument.

  10. Tobacco and Marijuana should be Legal for Medical reasons, but it should be a capital offense to distribute it for recreational purposes, and a Misdemeanor to posess it.
