Doesn't Schedule 1 mean the drug is dangerous????? Also, I don't agree with the other comments' points… I think drugs are banned because they lead to crime. (I might be biased though, I grew up in the Philippines)

Schedule I is the highest restriction; like heroin is at that level. At least that's how it is in Canada. Schedule VI is the lowestest for compounds and Schedule V is over the counter stuff like cough medicine.
