What The In-Crowd Won’t Tell You About Kinesiology
Dr. Meier has previously served as the project manager or recruitment coordinator for a number of research studies in the Physical Activity Epidemiology Lab (Dept. of Kinesiology, ISU) under Dr. Duck-chul Lee, his advisor, and he continued to guide undergraduate research in Kinesiology at CUI. Each student completes a research project as a culminating experience for his or her degree that exposes the student to all aspects of the research process. Students gain hands-on experience through multiple laboratory experiences. The Department of Health Sciences and Kinesiology at Georgia Southern University promotes undergraduate and graduate education, scholarship and research, and prepares students who are interested in entering a health field, as well as experienced health professionals who wish to further their career opportunities. A kinesiology degree prepares students for a wide range of careers, such as fitness leadership, health and wellness, cardiac rehabilitation, adaptive physical activity and sports administration. Physical Education Minor: If you are pursuing a career as a health or physical educator, or perhaps interested in becoming a personal trainer or coach, you may want to consider adding this minor to your degree. I then use muscle testing to identify what may be interfering with their well being and which energy balancing methods to use for that individual, to bring the body back into balance and harmony with itself.

Since movement is a part of everyone’s lives, kinesiologists work with people in a variety of contexts-from athletes and coaches in the context of sports to injured individuals in the context of rehabilitation to members of the general public in the context of improving health or fitness. This concentration will prepare you for careers in various public/private settings, college/university settings, non-profit health promotion agencies or to pursue graduate study in health promotion, health education or public health. The Department is comprised of three undergraduate programs, which includes a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science program with tracks in Clinical & Applied Physiology, Health, Fitness & Wellness, and Motor & Rehabilitation Sciences, a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology with tracks in Physical Education Teacher Education and Sport Leadership and Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health. PhD in Kinesiology (Motor Control and Learning)The University of Georgia’s PhD in Kinesiology motor control and learning specialization focuses on developmental aspects of movement and function across the lifespan.
In a small learning environment, our professors care about you-not just your Genesis Excel Performance Tape 10 Strip Sample Pack-and they cultivate lifelong mentoring relationships with the students they teach. Teaching is a calling for those who want to share their learning and experience with others. Through hands-on experience and scientific research, Kinesiology majors discover how anatomy, physiology, nutrition, and psychology shape human movement. Practicum assignment must be confirmed the semester before the practicum experience. Elective courses must be chosen in consultation with a student’s advisor. To be eligible for admission to the kinesiology major, a student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.250 and have passed the L.KIN-101, L.BIO-115, and L.BIO-115L courses with a grade of C or better in each. Showing that you have been certified gives confidence to clients and hiring managers that you possess the essential knowledge and skills to get the job done. The Kinesiology major is for students interested in studying the art and science of human movement. This concentration will prepare you to work in a wide range of enterprises that include clinical exercise physiology, cardiac rehabilitation, and commercial fitness facilities or pursue graduate education in kinesiology or exercise science. Graduate study is offered in the Department of Kinesiology leading to the Master of Science degree (concentrations in Exercise Physiology, Sport Pedagogy, and Sport Administration) and Doctor of Philosophy degree (concentrations in Exercise Science and Sport Studies). PhD in Kinesiology (Exercise Physiology)Earn your kinesiology PhD specializing in exercise physiology. In conventional medicine Kinesiology is the name given to the study of muscular movement (i.e. leverage, rotation, force, etc.) by physical education specialists and those who study body movements scientifically. Many kinesiologists find their work to be rewarding both scientifically and socially, and careers are available in a range of landscapes from business and industry to health care and medicine to academia.
