Melissa Moore, deputy director of New York State Policy Office, and Luke Niforatos, chief of staff and senior policy advisor at SAM, debate whether pot should be …
Decriminalizing it doesn’t solve the problem of individuals whose lives are ruined when their employer decides to invade their privacy by taking fluids from their body or chopping off chunks of their hair to see what they’ve been doing on their days off.
“Marijuana, in its natural form, is one of the safest therapeutically active substances known to man." ― Francis Young – DEAJudge – 1988 Marijuana is less dangerous than alcohol & less addictive than caffeine. https://drugwarfacts.org/chapter/addictive_properties
"The illegality of cannabis is outrageous, an impediment to full utilization of a drug which helps produce the serenity and insight, sensitivity and fellowship so desperately needed in this increasingly mad and dangerous world." – Dr. Carl Sagan (American Cosmologist, Astrobiologist, author & science communicator)
"Even if one takes every reefer madness allegation of the prohibitionists at face value, marijuana prohibition has done far more harm to far more people than marijuana ever could." “The anti-marijuana campaign is a cancerous tissue of lies, undermining law enforcement, aggravating the drug problem, depriving the sick of needed help and suckering well intentioned conservatives and countless frightened parents.” – William F. Buckley Jr. (American conservative author and commentator)
"Penalties against possession of a drug should not be more damaging to an individual than the use of the drug itself; and where they are, they should be changed. Nowhere is this more clear than in the laws against possession of marijuana in private for personal use…” – Jimmy Carter (U.S.President)
“Congress should definitely consider decriminalizing possession of marijuana…We should concentrate on prosecuting the rapists and burglars who are a menace to society.” -Dan Quayle (U.S. Representative & Vice President)

You're at a ball game or a concert, and someone's really violent and aggressive and obnoxious, are they drunk or are they smoking pot?" “Why is pot against the law? It wouldn't be because anyone can grow it, and therefore you can't make a profit off it, would it?” “…It grows naturally upon our planet. Doesn’t the idea of making nature against the law seem to you a bit unnatural?” -Bill Hicks (Satirist, Social Critic, Stand-Up Comedian)
"If the words "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" don't include the right to experiment with your own consciousness, then the Declaration of Independence isn't worth the hemp it was written on." – Terence McKenna (American ethnobotanist, author, advocate for responsible use of natural psychedelic plants)
The guy talks about weed companies profiting off of poor communities as if selling them weed were harmful to them wtf
Ohh wow weed is stronger today then in the 70s. How is that relavent? Still doesnt make it dangerous… So what he is saying is the pot shops are targeting minorities …
It seems like they're more concerned with the psychoactive effect and potency, but that's exactly what happened when alcohol became legal. Beer was the first step just like reggie is for weed. Then things became stronger liqours became stronger. Now, weed is becoming stronger as freedom is introduced into the industry. The only difference is weed is still maintaining a black market, but has yet to kill a single human in its natural growth state. Not saying people dont add shit to weed. That's why this industry needs to be under control to alleviate the black market. So there is no added substance to a NATURAL plant.
This guy should wash his mouth after all that bs comes out

Great move legalizing weed. You took one of the source incomes for drug dealers so guess what? They started dealing more crack/cocaine, heroin, and other harder drugs. What's your next genius move? legalizing heroin?
Make 21 and up an shut up
Given the size of the extremely huge underground market , what downside to legalization. Your an idiot guy , we have and have hade a huge market. Decriminalization leaves the profits with the street dealers and cartels.
Just fyi, no one died or was hospitalized prior to legalization from consuming unregulated Cannabis. Now a bunch of Brad's and Chad's like this guy take over and it's dangerous all of a sudden.
The Department of Health and Human Services has had a patent on weed since 2001.
I hope this guy is also going after the payday loan industry then

Too early to tell 6 years in wtf u think people live forever i aint got time for that shit
Pros & cons; there's no cons!!!
This guy needs a blunt
