Newark, Calif., September 10, 2012 – The Video Electronics Requirements Association (VESA®) today introduced the upcoming release of Embedded DisplayPortTM (eDP®) Model 1.4. This version of VESA’s embedded display interface includes new features that will further scale back system energy consumption, assist multi-contact knowledge over the display interface, and assist a wider vary of platform topologies together with tablets, handheld devices, and notebook PCs. These new options will position eDP as the common embedded display interface for mobile devices and will result in elevated battery life, reduce system size and weight, as well as increase overall show capabilities.
