  1. Preparing for my three week trip to Chicago (early tomorrow morning), else I must have a look at your series on marijuana/cannabis.
There are a crowd over here in Sweden that wants to legalize cannabis, with rather lame arguments, like legalization would eliminate the drug dealers, would remove stigmatization of drug addicts and certainly, as cannabis is no more dangerous than alcohol it just ”have to be legalized”.
Always interesting to learn more I will watch your videos when I’m installed in Old Town Chicago.

  2. Wow. Michigan is super strict. Im in CA and before it was legal here you had to be a medical patient to go to dispensaries. But you could walk into any Marijuana doctor with just a runny nose and get a medical card. It was pretty much 100% guaranteed. No application or anything. Granted it was abused a lot by recreational users but at least you didn't have to jump through a bunch of hoops to get decent meds. Now it's legal so that doesn't matter, but I'd be interested to hear your take on it since MI and CA have such different standards.

  3. Here’s my $0.02:
In Alberta, we have medical pot, legalized recreational pot, and of course black market pot. Now, it’s important to remember that NO strain, variety, potency, blend, canibinoid profile, THC/CBD level, etc. has an Rx ID number. This means that no medical pot has the benefit of study, evaluation, and of course insurance coverage. This leaves all the choices regarding dosage, strain, profile etc. entirely up to the patient, who must base their decision on anecdotal evidence, trial and error, and most egregiously, price!

Before medical pot or legalized recreational pot, patients simply went to black market. They established relationships with reputable dealers who offered high potency strains, good pricing, advice from other patients, and even free delivery. So when medical and recreational pot entered the fray, some patients did explore legal options, and very quickly learned that high pricing, strain shortages, lack of choice, and other problems w the system made their choice so much easier; the black market was clearly superior. Even those patients that wished to remain within the legalized system had no motivation to choose the medical route. Being forced to renew a prescription every 3 months, undergoing what seems an invasive interrogation, being forced into a supply relationship with ONE AND ONLY ONE online supplier, dealing with shortages, and paying double or triple for an inferior product, versus sticking with their friendly neighborhood dealer was a no brainer, but to stay legal, recreational pot dispensaries were still a better choice than the medical route.

So we’re left with a 3 tiered system which favors organized crime. Quality producers with an established distribution network are still criminalized. The medical profession remains hobbled by the lack of studiable, researchable, repeatable, data. Proceeds of pot sales, including taxes, doesn’t go back into the legalized system, the wasteful war on pot continues, everybody suffers.

The only real solutions to these issues is to decriminalize black market pot. Institute voluntary audit submissions from the growers. Issue Rx #s for stable strains so that patients can use their pharmacare/insurance to offset costs AND facilitate studies.Bring costs down for everyone. Redirect cops into more productive crime fighting roles. Etc etc….. Or at a very minimum just get the government out of the way of the People’s right to choose, and allow the market to rule, as our capitalist democracy enshrines.

Slightly more than $0.02… but there it is.

  4. I had mine in AZ but let it go because I like my 2A rights more than legal weed. We live next to Cali so 🤷🏽‍♂️. It needs to be federally legalized so you can keep firearms. I have chronic pain and sleep disorders. I’ve been rx’d everything for sleep and pain (usually can’t sleep because of pain). You know what works better than anything? THC gummie bear. Eat a small amount and go to bed. When it kicks in you’ll sleep without a hangover. My wife is a Dr but can’t rx it because the hospital she works for takes federal dollars. But she has had patients get real benefits from it. Besides that, who cares???? I can buy all the vodka I can afford at the same store my kids buy Cheetos. Booze kills how many per year? Weed kills no one.

  5. 12 plants per individual :O That's A LOT of marijuana. I don't think the state realizes the potential yield from most modern marijuana plants. However, I am all for medical marijuana and think you are doing Gods work here. Thank you.

  6. Are patients prescribed dosages of cannabis, or is it taken as necessary? Here in Canada we have cannabis shops opening up everywhere. Anyone of legal age (19yrs in BC) can walk in and choose from all sorts of different varieties. We still have medicinal outlets too though. My job doesn't allow me to partake even if I wanted to, but I was just curious about that.

  7. Having chronic pain due to 3 slipped disks in my back, I was on oxycodone 40 mg / day and at that point it really stopped being effective. When I realized that this was not helping I decided to try using medical marijuana and I am finding that this is more effective and far less harmful.

  8. I never have anything negative to say about all of the subscribers I've joined so I'm going to be nitpicky on this video (no tards to laugh at). It's not a driver'S license, it's a driver license. Take a look for yourself. In CA it's on the top right. Again just being nitpicky, no insults intended. Love all the work you do.

  9. Hi Bob, this may sound strange but this topic is very interesting to say the least. In my country of Tasmania we have legislation of medical use Marijuana oil. The problem in my country is people in power look at marijuana as ( God forbid drug of the devil). So does oil from Mary j led to drug addiction, my thoughts are no. Does it allow the user a better drug, I think yes,I have met people from all walks of life whom care fore sick children to adults etc, the side affect are not so extreme, not so many pills. It is very interesting, Here in Tasmania it is very hard to get on the program, in some situations another 18 month of tablet and tests are required, to my knowledge 6 people have got to the stage of legal usage. From hundred of applications. Please note I am not able to give real number here I am basing my opinion on what I read in the paper. I look forward to more on this subject from you as it is some what a better subject than DC flat earthers. Keep up the good work.

  10. I'm Canadian so it is an easy thing to get THC or CBD products, I just go tho the local legal dispensary. However they are not legally allowed to talk to you about what it does, so I'll be looking forward to this series. I have occasional headache troubles so I wanted to try it for that.

  11. Damn Bob….you never fail to surprise me. I had no idea you were a doctor, I assumed you were a science teacher.
I was growing plants in Montana. It's very relaxed there and pretty hard to get denied a card. Hell you don't really need a card because cops don't give a shit about pot there.
Thanks a bunch for posting this, there's a lot of good information in this video.

  12. Bob the Science Guy…..absolutely well done. We (John Q. Public) who do not deal with these forms on a daily basis need explanations like this. Whether it is medical marijuana, conceal and carry, travel/residency visas, ect. there are very few resources that actually explain the process clearly like you have started to do. Kudos to you!………An off topic request, I would love to hear your thoughts about the vaping is killing people subject…..just a thought, keep up the great work. Greetings from Michiana 🙂

  13. This is where you are at your best. I love it when you talk about your work and this is an area where you are clearly an expert. Thank you so much

  14. Any lawyers/paralegals in WA state watching please do this exact same video for how to expunge decade old marijuana crimes from your record! The forms and process are very confusing to an outsider.

  15. I was just wondering what marijuana would do for someone with Crohn's disease or Autism, as I had really not expect it would be beneficial for these, rather had expected the opposide, I hear you say you will explain in a future video. That's great, looking forward as I find such truly interesting.

  16. Satan's first step towards legalizing marijuana would be medical marijuana, this would be a gateway to harder homeopathic drugs. The pharmaceutical industry has plenty of drugs to treat all kind of symptoms of course side effects may include homicidal tendencies, Suicidal Tendencies, sudden death, explosive diarrhea, shaky leg syndrome, uncontrollable fidgeting other people,

Look at the financial Devastation legalizing marijuana and Other Drugs would cause. When a state county City or some municipality builds new jails or refurbish has existing they float bonds investors buy these bonds, in order to make money, the jails need to be at least 96% full. About 50% or more inmates in jail are in jail because of drug charges. Not to mention Court restitution, property forfeiture and seizure.
What about all of those people that lost their lives due to the War on Drugs, is it fair that in the future more people will not be able to lose their lives in the War on Drugs?
It is out of the benevolence of the federal government that you have a right to exist as a life-form and have attained that body, but if you violate that, then the government has the right to use deadly police Powers if necessary to remove your life from your body, if you choose to put a substance into your body that the benevolent federal government does not permit. After all it is not you that as being punished it is the federal government in their failure as you an illusion of a free will inhabiting your body.

  17. I was on the Oregon Medical Marijuana program for 4 years until we finally got smart as a state and just legalized it…now I don't have to go through all of the hoops you're talking about..which included the $275 Doctor fee and then the $200 state fee…thanks for the good work Dr. Bob…now get pot legal in your state and avoid having the state in your medical practices…

  18. It is so funny to hear the words, "send a check" what is this 1990? Just transfer the money by mobile phone or bank account, the reciever has the money instantly. I live in Denmark, NOBODY has checks i think its been 20 years since i recieved a check. But regarding the forms, it should be MUCH more simple like: Are you over 18, answer: YES, ok feel free to grow and use, make all drug USE legal, like in Portugal, they have seen the light, crime AND drug use are going down. 🙂 But a thing like marijuana should NEVER bee illigal in the first place.

  19. "Middle Initial" what do you write if you should not have a Middle Initial?
When I read the "Marine Corps" novels by W.E.B. Griffin he constantly mentioned one of his characters who had to use NMI for "no middle initial" 😉

And what would George Herbert Walker Bush write? Or does he use three legal first names and no initial?

  20. Bob, thank you for posting this. I'm curious… What do you think about the hoops one has to jump through to buy mmj versus how easy it is to buy alcohol or cigarettes. Genuinely interested.

  21. Greetings, From Southern Michigan
Since you touched on the topic, Michigan Marijuana, I have a question you may have an answer too. As for recreational growing, would the theft of plants, grown on private property, be considered theft of property? And or punishable by law?
