“Dwarffarian is the kind of game we used to long for; when we saw a new genre emerge as a start-up phenomenon, completely unbridled by anyone’s rules. Anyone could make a game about dragons, dwarves, and humans, and find their own voice in the process. That’s the thing about not knowing what you can do, where you can go. Although somewhere along the line, “Dwarffarian” developers decided to create a game about angry dwarves, angry elves, and orcs and place them all in a mountain. But what do they do in a mountain? They build a city. There’s an endless, endlessly optimistic, story about how my dwarves can find their way out of the mountains, but I’m still not sure how they’re supposed to do that.”
