When you first configure your newly upgraded HG530l router, your network may need a new IP address for your devices. Here are some steps you can take to make sure your devices can still find your router.
If you own one of these routers and want to change to a different firmware version but still have access to your SSH server and modem or router through a wired connection, consider installing the DD-WRT firmware as described above. It might also be wise to change your modem/router’s passwords but the easiest way to do that is to simply change the passwords in the router’s web interface.
When you enter the Router’s web interface to look for setup information, you will see the new firmware version listed as its default firmware. The real test for the firmware will come when you will attempt to follow the instructions to set up any services for example for DD-WRT firmware.
