Makdee is a 2002 Indian soft-pedal film, written and directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. It stars Naseeruddin Shah and Amrita Singh as the lovers, with Kunal Kapoor and Tanvi Azmi in supporting roles. The soundtrack was composed by Vishal Bhardwaj and lyrics were penned by Manoj Muntashir.

This is the story of two siblings, one male, the other female, and their life-long relationship over time, following a long-time break-up.

Plot
The story starts by introducing the two main characters, one a male and the other a female. The male character is never identified by name, but is referred to by age as “three” when the story opens and by age and a full name at the end. The female character is identified by name throughout the story. The two characters meet at the beginning of the story, though never communicate with each other until the film ends, when the male character kills the female character.

The male character is shown playing with the female character as a child, a habit the two have repeatedly shown throughout the film.

The male character is shown living in a sanitarium for three years, recovering from a mental breakdown, but starts to recover when the female character enters his life. During this period, they are subjected to several tests of their sanity.

When the male character finally leaves the sanitarium, he is no longer under the influence of his medication and is shown to be driving his car, showing that he may be somewhat normal again.

While he is driving, a man enters his car, stabs him to death, and shoots the female character.

The female character is shown in hospital, recovering from her wounds.

The male character turns up at the hospital, demanding to know what has happened to his sister. The only thing the female character tells him is that she has died, but makes no mention of his sister having been murdered.

The story concludes with the female character telling her brother that she did not die of the wounds she sustained, but chose to commit suicide.
